Class I
Persons engaged in indoor & non-manual work in non-hazardous places.
Example: Accountant, Office Clerk, Architect (Indoor), Barber/ Hairdresser, Beautician, Dentist/Doctor, Home-maker, Lawyer, Nurse, Indoor Sales/Marketing (>50% in office), Retiree (more than 62 years old), Surgeon (Non-veterinary), Tailor, Full-Time Student (more than 16 years old). Management (Director, Manager etc) with overseas travel less than 12 times a year.
Class II
Persons engaged in work of an outdoor or supervisory nature or involves occasional in manual work whose duties do not involve the use of tools or machinery or exposure to any special hazard.
Example: Chauffeur, Decorator (Managing), Engineer, Foreman (Non-Construction), Grocer, Outdoor Sales/Marketing, Surveyor, Insurance Agent/ Property Agent, Assembly Line Production Worker (Not using tools & machinery), Unarmed Security Guard, Fitness/Gym Instructor, Laboratory Assistance (in schools and collages). Management (Director, Manager etc) with overseas travel 12 or more times a year.
Class III
Persons engaged in manual work not of particularly hazardous nature but involving the use of tools or machinery.
Example: Baker/Chef, Butcher/Fishmonger, Carpenter (Not using woodworking machinery), Contractor, Courier, Driver, Farmer, Hawker/Market Stallholder, Motor Repairer, Painter (Not involving work at heights), Plumber, Veterinary Surgeon, Technician.
REFERRED OCCUPATIONS FOR COVER DURING OFF-DUTY HOURS:
(Please refer to our office for approval) Air crew, pilot, military personnel (excluding MINDEF administrative staff)
DECLINED OCCUPATION: Industrial workers using heavy machinery/ woodworking related; any occupation involving aviation activities; police force personnel, fire fighters; construction/ unskilled workers; ship crew or workers on board vessels, stevedores, shipbreakers; occupations involving diving, platforms, oil & gas rig and/or offshore work; occupation involving work at heights/ undergroud &/or handling of hazardous chemical/ electricity; professional sports teams; professional divers and jockey; welders and the like.
