CLASSIFICATION OF OCCUPATION

Class I

Persons engaged in indoor & non-manual work in non-hazardous places. Example: Accountant, Clerk, Architect (indoor), Barber/ Hairdresser, Beautician, Dentist/Doctor, Home-maker, Lawyer, Nurse, Indoor sales/Marketing, Retiree (>62 yrs old), Surgeon (not veterinary) & Tailor.

Class II

Persons engaged in work of an outdoor or supervisory nature or involves occasional manual work whose duties do not involve the use of tools or machinery or exposed to any special hazard. Example: Chauffeur, Decorator (Superintending), Engineer, Foreman (Non-construction), Grocer, Outdoor sales/Marketing, Surveyor, Insurance Agent, Property Agent & Assembly line production worker (not using tools & machinery), Student(full time).

Class III

Persons engaged in manual work not of particularly hazardous nature but involving the use of tools or machinery. Example: Baker, Carpenter (not using woodworking machinery), Contractor, Courier, Driver, Farmer, Butcher/ Fishmonger, Hawker/ Market Stallholder, Motor Repairer, Painter (not involving work at heights), Plumber, Veterinary Surgeon.


All other professions and occupations not mentioned above must be referred to the company for approval EXCEPT for the following excluded occupations: Industrial workers using machinery, construction / unskilled workers, ship crew or worker on board vessels, manual worker involving work at heights, electricians, welders, air crew, military personnel, police force personnel and the like.

 ELIGIBILITY
Any Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Foreigners with valid employment passes who are domiciled in Singapore whose age next birth is between 16 to 70 years may apply.
