Online
Privacy Statement
At TENET, we believe it is important for you to know how
we use the information you share with us in the personal
and business insurance sections of our Web site.
Why
does TENET ask me for information online?*
Our Web site
was created to provide easy access to information about
our products and services, and we encourage you to browse
the various areas of our site without revealing any personal
information about yourself. You will notice that some screens
ask for specific data about you. For example, in order to
provide a quote that accurately reflects your particular
insurance needs, we may ask for information about you and
the property or exposure you wish to insure. Information
requested may also be used to access motor vehicle records,
loss reports, credit or other consumer reports, and reports
on the condition and value of property to be insured, which
are used for underwriting purposes. We may also order such
reports in connection with an update, change, reinstatement
or renewal of any policy we may issue to you. Upon your
request, we will advise you of the name and address of any
consumer reporting agency from whom we order a report.
How
does TENET collect information from visitors
to its Web site?*
In most cases,
we ask for your specific information through a questionnaire.
In addition, as part of our ongoing Web site content development,
we use "cookies" to measure traffic to various
areas of our site. (A cookie is a small file that a Web
site can send to a user's browser to track the number of
visits and average time spent in specific areas of its site.)
The cookie expires as soon as you exit our site. The information
we collect through cookies is aggregated to determine overall
(rather than individual) use of our site, and is used to
tailor future content based on the interests of our visitors.
If you do not wish to accept cookies, you may choose to
disable cookies by modifying the preferences in your browser.
How
does TENET use my information?*
The information
we collect from you via this Web site will be used in the
normal course of conducting our insurance business. For
example, the information may be used to fulfill your online
request, evaluate your other insurance needs, and to provide
service in connection with any policy that may be issued
to you. From time to time, we may also send you information
about our other products and services that we think may
be of interest to you.
If you do
not wish to be contacted about our other products or services,
you may opt-out of such future communications by contacting
us.
How
does TENET keep my information secure?*
TENET has
put in place a security measure called SSL encryption. This security
measure protects the information you submit to us.
To see if a page is protected by SSL, click on the
security information link which appears near the bottom
of the page. Because of the nature of the Internet, TENET is not liable for any misuse by third
parties of any electronically transmitted information.
Does
TENET share information about me with other
companies?*
Typically,
TENET shares the information we gather
via this Web site only with our agents and other parties
who assist us with our business. However, this information
may also be shared with regulatory authorities, law enforcement
agencies, other governmental authorities and third parties
to protect our interests, and to perform actuarial or research
studies. We do not sell or rent our customers' e-mail addresses
to third parties for the purpose of transmitting unsolicited
e-mail messages.
* Note:
This privacy statement applies to our personal and business
insurance sections of TENET's Web site.
We are not responsible for the Web sites of other companies
that may be hyperlinked to this Web site. This statement
is not intended to and does not create any contractual or
other legal rights in or on behalf of any party, and is

a minimum period of 30 days.
SSL
Encryption
TENET is committed to protecting your privacy and security.
This site is protected by the SSL (Secure
Socket Layer) encryption. SSL utilizes data encryption to
create a secure environment for you to conduct your on-line
transactions. In order for SSL to be effective, you must
be using an SSL compliant browser. (e.g. Netscape Navigator
3.0 or Internet Explorer Microsoft 3.0 and above)
In Netscape you can determine whether encryption is active
by looking at the little key in the lower left-hand corner
of the Netscape window. A solid key indicates that the document
is encrypted, while a broken key indicates that the document
is not encrypted. In Microsoft Internet Explorer, a solid
padlock will appear on the bottom right of the screen when
encryption is in use.
